HYXGT??

Hi, I have missed a couple of weeks of HYXGT (Hows your cross-stitch going Tuesday) but have got another little project on the go, being the freebie from Cross stitcher magazine - however, I seem to have got a duff bundle with lots of one colour and not many of others, but my replacement kit has arrived today so I will be able to finish some of the bits I had to miss, so here is my little hedgehog so far:

Today, postie also brought me my card swap that had been arranged over Crafty Place (the theme was green/lilac) - here is the lovely card I received from Myz:

This is the card I sent Myz:

Thanks Myz, your card is lovely & thank you for the little images xx

Thank you cards.

Well, there was I thinking, how organised am I getting my cross stitch done for the teachers end of school year pressies, and had completely forgotten about Thank you cards - how dozy can you get??? That was until I popped onto Rainmacs Place, where Sarah had posted a pic of a card she has done for her sons teacher. Luckily Sarah had sent me some gorgeous papers and images and one was the same she had used - so I am sorry, but I have shamelessly pinched your image and made 2 easel cards for my youngest (he has two teachers who job share). However, my eldest thought with the wings it was a bit "teachers pet" - hmm what does he mean - is he not an angel at school???? So I gave him my box of stamped images and let him choose his image so I could make a card - below is a pic. of the finished cards:

Hope they like them.

I would like to enter the easel cards into Creative Craft world challenge no. 5

Friday night out!

Friday just gone, I had a great night visiting Angela from Sparkly Cards blog. She is a Stampin up demonstrator and was holding her first Card Class. Angela showed us how to make a box as well as making four cards. Angela, makes some really beautiful things and some of her cards were on display and they were all gorgeous. Here is a pic. of my makes:

Thanks Angela for a great night - and sharing your tips.

Card for a challenge.

I would like to enter the above card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I have followed their sketch using papers from Basic Grey with image and sentiment from Craftwork cards.

Playing with pro-markers.

Well, I recently took delivery of 25 pro-markers but they were supposed to go away for my birthday - however, I put on my puppydog eyes and begged my hubby if I could have them now as I REALLY REALLY needed them!!! He caved in - YIPPEE!!!
So after following a couple of tutorials, here a couple of my first attempts - however some did also have to go in the bin as well - oops!!

(Just to say she is sat on some silver card - not plain white card.)

Thanks for looking.

Card for a couple of challenges.

Well, I have finally got round to making a couple of cards - I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Cutie Pie
Creative Card Crew - Happy Birthday
One Stop Craft Shop - With Wings
I dont think I have entered one card for so many challenges - hope it works.

Thanks for looking. xx

Sunday already???

Good afternoon all, hope you are having a lovely weekend. The sun eventually reached us late on in the week so made the most of it - washing out to dry, lunch in the garden reading new magazines, no kids, hubby at work - aah bliss!!!

(sorry about the light - was taken in the garden and couldnt see the screen properly on the camera). Today it is back to being a bit chilly - boo.

The boys are back to school next week - and once I get the house back to normal (meaning no toys or games boxes all over the floor!!!), I must get back making my cards - I quickly made one for me husbands nephew the other day:

Its quite similar to one I did for his dad - hope they don't compare notes - lol xx

Over the last week or so - I seem to be doing more cross stitch on a night while (half) watching tv and these are my makes:

I am trying to get organised when the kids leave school for the summer holidays I have done the little alphabet patterns to stick on notebooks to give to their teachers. The champagne glasses are to go on a card for a golden wedding - sewing with the gold thread was a nightmare - glad it was only a little bit - thanks to the ladies on the mse cross stitch cafe thread who gave me some advice. Lastly, the patchwork heart just needs the backstitch/blanket stitch effect doing - and that one was done just because I liked the pattern. Cant wait to start the new kit that came with this months magazine subscription.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Card for a couple of challenges.

Hi, well after catching up with the washing and ironing (we were only away 2 nights but I seemed to have packed for 2 weeks!!), I have been having a little faff on this morning and made a card for a challenge over on MSE - the theme was 'wings', I also thought I could enter it into the Allsorts Challenge blog - the theme being 'petals & pearls', hope it is ok:

The card blank was from Craft Superstore and I have cut the corner off.
Backing paper from a freebie pad with a magazine.
Stamped image given by a friend.
Pearls from Hobbycraft.
Card Candy from Craftwork cards.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday xx

No Craftin'post.

Helloooo, hope you had a nice easter and didn't eat too much choccy - I do lurve mini eggs!!! Well, we had dinner at my mums on Easter Sunday - and this was the scene for 14 of us:

I don't know how she does it!! Lovely food, lovely pressies, lots of choccy eggs - a really great day - although I did miss my dad - always in my thoughts xxx

It was my eldests birthday on the Wednesday he was 10 (I can't believe where the time has gone!!!) so we went to Edinburgh as a birthday treat to go to the zoo and the castle:

We had a great time and were really lucky with the weather. Although slightly shocked at paying £40 to get in the Castle (or is it just me being tight - lol).

Back home to washing & ironing but seriously missed my crafting - I have found it really helps me relax.

You may also remember I mentioned in an earlier post about trying other types of sewing and recently bought from Amazon the Cath Kidston Sew book - thinking there might be quite a bit I could do by hand, but - I think I will be needing a sewing machine!! I also bought Ree Drummonds book - have you been to her blog??? It is lovely!!! I have tried one of her recipes it was really easy and tasted lovely - so looking forward to trying some other things:

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Happy Good Friday everyone - are you having fish for lunch??? Just a flying visit to wish you all a HAPPY EASTER.

And the boys have asked me to pop a pic on my blog of their easter egg competion entries - no winners but they enjoyed doing them!!

Also trying to be artistic with my photos, however, can't seem to carry it off as well as other people do on their blogs:

Enjoy the Easter break and try not to eat tooooo much choccy - enjoy!!!
